When we got to the Moon Palace, we were very politely, efficiently checked in and assigned a concierge who gave us a wealth of information. The resort is spectacular, with marble settings, open terraces, and an 800-square-foot pool. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed.

Our bellboy dropped off our bags and made sure we were settled in, but seemed to want to run away before we could tip him. We found this to be consistent with the rest of our stay. We were convinced that Moon Palace must treat their staff very well, because everyone seemed so eager to please and so gracious whether you tipped them or not (tipping is included in the all-inclusive price, but we've always tipped anyway).

Most rooms are ocean-views with hot tubs. There are several restaurants, and the food was fantastic--always fresh, totally generous, and the settings almost eccentric. Even our fridge was totally stocked in our room, and had a basket of fresh fruit and a bottle of champagne.

Besides feeling pampered to death, Moon and Sunrise are out of the Hotel Zone and in a gated community. We really felt secure. Continued . . .

Quick Tips:

The Palace Resorts have a deal where you pay for one and play at all of them. They provide free shuttle to all the resorts, where you can use any of the beaches, workout facilities, restaurants, and lounges, and all drinks, entertainment, meals, and tips are included. However, we hardly felt the need to leave; the Moon/Sunrise Palace has beautiful white sandy beaches, sailboats, jet skis, its own marina/boat with parasailing, wonderful entertainment, dancers, singers, live music, and events always going on. There was certainly plenty to do right there (although we did go to Senor Frogs, the Jungle Tour on jet skis, a lobster dinner cruise, golfing twice, Cozumel, and more.)

We even learned to scuba-dive on Moon Palace's property and went out right from their property (a whole new journal in itself.)

Anyway, Sue and I ended up buying timeshare from Palace Resorts and RCI and couldn't be happier. We own a trucking company and have gone everywhere and have never been treated as well as this. We've stayed at the Moon/Sunrise Palace Resorts a couple times now . . . even sent the parents there, and everyone expresses the same sentiments.

Best Way To Get Around:

If you've ever tried all-inclusive or cruises, they certainly are not all the same . . . we've had some bad experiences as well. We are really sold on the Palace Resorts and have had several other great experiences with RCI, but hope to learn about and go to other great places from these journals and maybe get tips/emails or IMs from others.

Please check out our Couples Page (nothing sexual involved). We'd love to share some of our trips, hear about yours, and maybe even plan more vacations with other couples. Click on the pix below for more details . . . Thx for visiting!

So far, of all the places we''ve been, this is truly a "dining experience"! Visit Moon Palace''s web site that describes each of their 10 restaurants. The pix that comes up on the restaurants site has a fruit and vegetable bar that you have to see in person to appreciate. We''ve gone to full buffets that were not as big as their fruit and vegetable bar alone.

There''s a wonderful choice of restaurants there, but the most important thing is that the food was wonderful. We''d have to say this is our favorite resort, our favorite restaurants, or let''s just say best "dining experience" we''ve had so far. (And I’ve been a truck driver most my life, so you know I like my food.)

The only restaurant you''ll need reservations at is the Japanese restaurant. There''s just about any type of atmosphere you''ll want and you can eat at about any time of the day or night.

Sue and I enjoyed eating at all the restaurants which I believe all overlook the ocean; 2 restaurants surround an indoor pool and hot tub, several places for fine dining, buffets that were indoor and outdoor, we ate outside in a gazebo watching live music by the ocean, did room service which they cater very well, and in several other perfect settings.

And the best thing is, if you get tired of dining at all the Moon/ Sunrise Resort restaurants or room service, you can take their free shuttle into Cancun and go to one of the several other resorts that belong to Moon Palace and eat and drink there for free too!!! I''m not talking cheap food and drink, I''m talking steaks, huge shrimp, crab legs, awesome fresh buffets, fruit, salad and vegetable bars, and even premium beers and liquor--not just shelf/ domestic drinks!
