Cancun for Xmas

Overview

Quote:
The Royal Solaris Cancun (an all-inclusive resort) is a terrific resort, with plenty of activities if you don't wish to go out much. However, I highly recommend the Party Cruise for a fun, but LATE, evening. They offer unlimited drinks & dancing music while cruising to Isla Mujeres for an all-you-can-eat buffet and highly entertaining show. The Lobster Dinner Cruise provided a romantic evening that made Christmas night very special. And you don't want to miss a stop at Aqua World to pet the rays and swim with the dolphins (and even feed a shark, if you wish).Quick Tips: The Royal Solaris may be all-inclusive, meaning tips are not "needed". However, I suggest slipping the bar...Read More

Best Things Nearby:Ocean, night clubs, restaurants, and shopping.Best Things About the Resort:The staff was fabulous. Housekeeping left all kinds of cute creations on our bed each day (little animals made out of towels or colored paper towels). Bartenders were extremely friendly.Resort Experience:The Royal Solaris is a mandatory all-inclusive resort. There are many restaurants and bars on-site. The food was very good, with plenty of variety, and almost always available. The activities staff is great, especially the folks down at the main pool. RCI exchangers have their own person available for booking tours/activities at discounted rates. ...Read More

El Cambalache

Restaurant

I have never before seen such a large steak that was considered a serving for one. All of the entrees were that way. Although the meal is priced high, there was enough to take a second meal back to the room with us. The presentation, preparation, and service were comparable to any upscale restaurant that I have ever been to in the States. The atmosphere and prices would suggest that you should dress up for this restaurant, but they do not enforce a dress code.

This has got to be one of the "funnest" bars I have ever been to (better than Senior Frogs, in my opinion). The bartenders spend all their free time playing practical jokes on each other and having a riot with the customers. Staff members run around making hats and animals out of balloons, for the adults and kids both. There is a band that plays at night, with the staff dancing on the counters to DJ tunes when the band takes a break (careful - they will pull you up to dance with them). Since they all spend their night being as crazy as possible, you must have a fine sense of humor to really enjoy this place. One of the bartenders hooked a bunch of straws together, to make one really long straw, a...Read More
