beezin' on the bayou

A September 2002 trip to New Orleans by globerunners

ever wonder about the home of jazz? Why do they bury their dead above ground! What is really on bourbon street!? Really taste N'awlins cuisine and ever wonder what Emeril is cooking up? I will tell you more if you are interested.

The creole cooking, swamp boat tours, legends of the bayous, location sites of movies made in New Orleans, and the French Quarter. Take a haunted hiking tour at night and learn about the hauntings, vampires, and voodoo rites. Stroll around the French Quarter, listen to cool jazz from every corner pub/bar (live), see 'gators in the swamp, and eat mallows - very different.

Quick Tips:

You should have on walking shoes, be adventurous, have a good sense of humorand love of history, and a GREAT appetite for creole, cajun, and french cuisine.

Best Way To Get Around:

Walking, taxi, and tours.
