The Old Parliament House and Portrait Gallery really is worth a look. Always an interesting exhibit around.

Civic provides for excellent outdoor dining.

Quick Tips:

Stay at the youth hostel on Dryandra St in O'Connor. It is nestled in a sanctury of bushland and is very convenient to the city. Bus stop is right out the front and taxi ride not more than .

Best Way To Get Around:

Taxis are pretty cheap . . . buses not so good. Can walk, but only for medium amounts of time.

This was an excellent place. This microbrewery offers a range of award-winning English-style beers and is a must for any beer fanatic.

Attraction

A small but good cinema showing standard movies and useful for the lonely traveler. It's located next to backpacker accommodation. It's not the biggest and best cinema in Canberra, but it's always showing something worth watching.
