The French Quarter is very lively all day long. Bourbon Street is not recommended for children. The House of Blues has great music and good food. Don''t miss out on trying the original mufaletta at the central grocery company. It actually is enough for two people. We visited the Audobon Institute Zoo. We took the streetcar and then a shuttle from the streetcar drop off point. We also went to the Audobon Institute Aquarium of the Americas and the Imax theatre. We took the ferry to see Mardi Gras World. This was pretty cool. You get to see the actual floats that they use in the Mardi Gras Parades. The Louisiana Swamp tour was fun. The Riverwalk Marketplace was a nice place to shop. Quick Tips:...Read More

Best Things Nearby:The St. Charles Avenue streetcar stops right in front of the hotel. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle to the French quarter; pick up a schedule. There is also restaurant located in the hotel as well as a lobby lounge. There were also a few restaurants just a few blocks away, including Delmonico''s. There is a grocery store located right at the corner of the block where you can pick up a three day(unlimited usage per day)streetcar pass. Work out well if you plan on going back and forth to the French Quarter as well as to through the Garden District and to the ZOO.Best Things About the Resort:We had a one-bedroom unit. One of the well known Brennan Family's restaurant. When I began researching places to eat in New Orleans I kept coming across the Brennan Family restaurants. So of course, I had to try it out. Delicous!!! Is all I have to say. The cuisine is Italian but it has a touch of Creole. My Fiance' and I shared a large antipasti platter that contained meats, cheeses and foccaccia(bread). I ordered the Stracci and it was fabulous. My Fiance' ordered the ravioli. He loved it. I regret not trying their deserts. The service was excellent. The restaurant was dimly lit so it had a very nice romantic effect yet it was not too quite. We dined in the skylight room which contained vaulted ceilings and skylights. It ha...Read More

If you in the French quarter and looking for a place to eat don't pass this place by. It is a liitle pricey for a casual lunch. Your best bet is a casual dinner. For all the Shrimp lovers out there. This is the place to visit if you just love shrimp. Even if you dont' love shrimp they offer everyting from vegetarian dishes to steaks. Bubb Gump specializes in shrimp dishes. The portions are pretty big. We split the Calamari Fritti for an appetizer($7.99), and for our main courses ordered Shrimp in Dippin Broth ($13.79) and the Dumb Luck Coconut Shrimp($15.79). The Coconut Shrimp is Delicious. The whole restaurant was filled with memorabilia from the movie Forest Gump. Great atmosphere and good food....Read More

Patout''s Cajun Bistro is located in the Heart of the French Quarter. This place was just plain fun. If you like Cajun cuisine then you will like this place. We sat downstairs at an open-air table. There was someone performing live Cajun music, and it was just laid-back and relaxing. We shared gator bits ($6.95) and a cup of jambalaya $4.95). We also had a shrimp po'' boy ($9.95) and a grilled chicken po'' boy ($9.95) for our main meal. They were really good. Mmmm!! They don''t just serve sandwiches though -- they also serve steak, chicken and seafood dishes. This is a great place to just relax and take it all in. They have Happy Hour specials ...Read More
