Marco Island - Great Vacation Spot

Eat at Pelican's Bend on the Isle of Capri (Grouper, frog legs, and the wedge of salad are their specialty), eat at Rookies and Snook's Inn on Marco Island, visit Stan's on Sundays at Goodland FL (on the island) for food, local entertainment, and to watch people. See a local entertainer - Tim Casey. He performed at the Marriott and at other local establishments. Great singer and entertainer!

Quick Tips:

Backwater fishing, para-sailing, and shell collecting are all a must! If you are staying at the Charter Club - use their bikes. It is a great way to see Marco Island. You can also rent bikes locally.

Best Way To Get Around:

The scenic bus tour is fun. They go into great depth explaining the history and attractions of the island. For first timers, it is a great way to see the island. Walking and biking are a good way to meet the locals. It is fun to sit and talk to them. They are really friendly people.

Best Things Nearby:
Restaurants, movies, shopping center, and the beach.

Best Things About the Resort:
The pool and hot tub are GREAT! The rooms are huge and overlook the gulf. It is a beautiful scene. The sailboats are fun. If you don't know how to sail, they will teach you. If you have never windsurfed - try it. I am too old to be doing it, but it was fun to try.

Resort Experience:
There are numerous activities at the resort. We always go for a bike ride every day. It is a fun way to get the day started. We will ride the bikes for an hour or so, just to start the mornings out. We try to sail at least once a day also. They have a fleet of sail boats. It is great to sail out with the dolphins. You see them all the time.
