On a freezing cold December night, we drove into Philadelphia from King of Prussia to have sushi at Kisso. I was really in the mood for a greasy and juicy cheesesteak, but I figured sushi was the healthier and trendier alternative! Also, I had read about the new art galleries and trendy restaurants that were popping up in Philadelphia's Center City, or Old City, the historic neighborhood where Ben Franklin and the Continental Congress made their mark at Independence Hall, and I was eager to check out a Sushi place in the middle of America's birthplace.Kisso is a cute, serene, and simple little sushi bar located on the corner of Race and 4th, right across the street from the fortress-like Philadel...Read More

I tried a delicious Taro bubble tea there, which was every bit as good as in New York or Taiwan. The bubbles had a very nice texture and were not clumpy. T...Read More

In the week before I left for Philadelphia, I hungrily and eagerly anticipated having my first taste of a Philly cheesesteak in a long time. It is the occasional fattening and delicious local specialty like the Philly cheesesteak that inspires me to eat well, work out, and reject all unauthentic copies like the cheesesteaks they serve at Subway. I have to report that my experience at Geno's was excellent and the most uniquely Philadelphian dining experience you could have. Geno's beckons hungry tourists and longtime local customers with gaudy neon lights that leave no mystery to its claim to fame: The Best Steaks. Other neon signs along the wall tempt you with cheese fries and roast pork. You re...Read More
