We stayed at the Christmas Mountain Village which is close to all the attractions. Wisconsin Dells is definitely a kid's dream vacation and maybe even a "Big Kid's" dream vacation. They are known for having more water parks (outdoor and indoor) than any other place in the world. It is very similar to Gatlinburg in that they have a main strip with all kinds of shops, restaurants, "Ripley's Believe it or not", etc. They also offer boat tours of the Dells, which we did not opt to do -- and I'm still kicking myself. Quick Tips: If you travel up during the summer or over a holiday, try driving up early in the morning or late at night to avoid the bumper to bumper traffic. Best Way To Ge...Read More
Best Things Nearby:There are great family restaurants near the resort. We went to Paul Bunyon's, which is a family-style restaurant where you sit with other diners at a large picnic table and are served "family style." Bay of Dreams consisted of an outdoor water park, which was very clean and extremely large. Our 6 year old boy picked one slide with a pool that he became obsessed with to spend the majority of the day, while my wife and I kicked back within watching distance of him for the day. They also had other rides, like bumper cars and motorized water rides to keep the kids busy. We came back later that night and spent a few hours in the indoor water park at Bay of Dreams. All in all, I was very pleased with the safety and variety of slides for the kids and me to enjoy. We will definitely be back!
