Quote: A great vacation with our family (7 of us). A nice resort with lots to do at the resort. A beautiful place to watch the sun set every evening right out over the bay!

While the purpose of this vacation with our family was to relax and enjoy the sun, this resort offered a lot of activities just to help break up the day. From sailing, sea kayaking, boogie boarding in the beach, or water aerobics to water polo and pool volleyball by the pool, there was lots to choose from.Sailing was probably my highlight. After a quick "try-out" by the staff, my father-in-law and I were able to take a small sailboat out in the bay. It was a lot of fun to watch the fish jumping and the various birds (pelicans were neat) diving for food.Quick Tips: Watch out for people selling stuff on the beach. If my daughter (two years old) didn't enjoy playing in the sand, hunting for s...Read More

Best Things Nearby:A small zoo at a nearby resort (watch for timeshare people). A nice shopping mall within five minutes (grocery store too).Best Things About the Resort:For this vacation we wanted to basically relax and not have to worry about much. In that respect the "all-inclusive" was perfect for that.Resort Experience:Overall the resort is nice and well kept (even considering a hurricane went through less than a month before). We had heard some rave reviews about the place and although I will recommend to friends, it has apparently been slipping each year. Several repeat guests told us that each year something else is not available from the previous year...Read More

Hard Rock Cafe

Restaurant

If your at all worried about local restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, I would recommend the Hard Rock Cafe. We had a great meal there with excellent service and a reasonable price. Although it's nice to sample the local cuisine, if you have food allergies or other concerns, it's nice to eat in a recognized establishment.

We took a nice day trip to Puetro Vallarta. We chose to take a taxi ($10USD, 20-30 minutes) over a bus (cheap, but over one hour with a transfer). We visited about one month post hurricane Kenna. Unfortunately, the Malecon (the boardwalk) was closed off (heavily damaged by the hurricane) and was being busily repaired. Some waterfront shops were also still closed due to the damage. Other then not having a wide sidewalk along the road, this damage did not disturb our day. There are numerous shops to visit and some very neat architecture. We chose to eat at The Hard Rock Cafe (due to family members with bad food allergies); however, I would like to have experienced the local food a little more (the...Read More
