Indiana Jones Fantasies

Overview

Quote:
Rent a motor bike and zip arond all the temples.

Quick Tips:

Generally, it takes one three days to see everything. You purchase the pass the day before and are allowed to go to the temples free that day after 4pm. Make sure you see the Main temple, Angkor Wat, for the first time in the afternoon/evening as the light makes it much more impressive.

Best Way To Get Around:

Get a motor bike driver for about 6-8 a day. If you are confident, renting a motor bike gives you the option of going around all on your own, though you need to take care of securing the bike so it is not stolen (even from the owners sometimes!)

Though pricier then other budget accomodation in the area, for the dollar, it is by FAR the best value in the area (15-25USD)! The foreign managment provides a wealth of information and has created a very well run hotel right in the center of Siem Reap. There are just a few rooms but each has been decorated with various pieces of local art. All rooms have Aircon and Satillite TV and one bottle of water is provided each day. The reasturant downstairs is not bad, and the food is quiet clean and the water is filtered.

Today, you can still do pretty much anything you want and wander whereever you feel like; however, that is bound to change in the next few years. Three days is the length of time most visitors spend as it provides enough time to visit all the key temples as well as providing one with time to see some of the smaller sites or re-visit some favorites. It is best to hire a motorbike driver, or is you are experienced, to rent a bike on your own. Once you arrive at...Read More
