Cozumel in November

A November 2002 trip to Cozumel by musikant

Cozumel in November

Overview

Quote:
Cozumel is laid back, relaxed and down to earth. No fancy restaurants, shows, or other glitzy stuff, but the people were warm and friendly, food was great and we loved the entire island.

Quick Tips:

The visitor is given constant reminders not to swim on the undeveloped east coast, but when the north wind is blowing, the east side is calm. We especially enjoyed Playa Bonita, a beautiful beach with talcum powder sand.

Best Way To Get Around:

Taxis are always available, but we decided to rent a car for a few days and the difference was almost negligible. If driving, remember that the roads are not well maintained and the cars have virtually no safety features.

Best Things Nearby:Beaches, shoppingBest Things About the Resort:Nice location. Each unit has an ocean view. Not terribly fancy but comfortable.Resort Experience:Although there is a prevalence of timeshare sales going on, it was easy to ignore this activity. The room was a hotel unit but has plenty of room and a great view. The beach has rocky steps to enter the water and if there is some wave action you are risking serious injury. I recommend the public beaches elsewhere. Unit Type: Studio Activities: Good Amenities: Good ...Read More

Great food and service. We liked it enough to go back for a second dinner. Highly recommended. Try the grilled garlic shrimp and the tortilla soup. My wife had the chicken in mole and loved it. Another plus - they make fabulous Margaritas.

A beautiful spot inside the big Los Cinco Soles shop features an open courtyard and romantic lighting. Yes, it's a bit of Disney (romanticized Mexican style) but it works. Food was very good and the service was attentive and informative.

A beautiful restaurant that would do well in New York, much less little Cozumel. Wonderful service and a lovely outside courtyard. Our dinners were flambeed tableside and were delicious. Probably the most expensive restaurant on the island, but well worth it.
