A week in Lagoon City

Overview

Quote:
Normally, the weather in mid-May isn't very kind and unpredictable in Ontario. But, we were fortunate to had some decent weather during our stay. My wife and I did lot of hikings. I am a golf fanatic and to be able to play at least a round of golf per day were fantastic.

Quick Tips:

I would recommend to make a trip to Casino Rama if one like gambling. Also, the immediate area provides lot of good spots for fishing from the shore. Fishing baits can eaily to buy from vendors along the main street.

Best Way To Get Around:

Grocery store is quite a distance away so one definitely need a car. A bicycle will be a good transportation between the building and the resort facility.

Best Things Nearby:It is closed to many golf courses with a very inexpensive greens fee in comparison to the similiar courses in the Greater Toronto Area. A Casino Rama is only few minutes away by car. Also, there are lot of hiking trails in the area. Best Things About the Resort:It has more upscale cooking/kitchen utilities than other Gold Crown type of resorts I have stayed at. The neat thing about this timeshare is the name of the building--Chateau Genevieve. Our daughter is named Genevieve!Resort Experience:It is not a superior type of timeshare resort, but it is adequate for a comfortable getaway. The resort is quite old and not very well...Read More

It is a popular restaurant in this tiny town of Brechin. It is well decorated with comfortable settings. We were surprised to see how many varieties of appetizers and entries it has on the menu. The quality of food was good and well presented.

It has lot of mature groves of cedar trees that line many of the fairways. It has two very distinct nines. The front nine have narrow fairways and small greens. The back nine have a much more generous fairways and are more forgiving.

In terms of playability it is very good. I found the front nine very challenging as you have to play smart in order to get a good score there. All the bunkers are well situated to protect the green. I had played there three consecutive mornings and I will definitely go back there again next year.

It is an outdoor tennis court converted to be an all season tennis court. The condition is acceptable but some maintenance is needed. Still, it is good for recreational players but not for someone who is serious about this sport.
