Four Sails Fiasco

A December 2000 trip to Virginia Beach by sgulfcove

Quote: I grew up and raised my own family near Va. Beach. We went there to spend Christmas With my family. The parking spaces were small. The "van accessable" handicapped space would not hold anything larger than a mid sized car. The doors to the parking ares stayed open so the halls throughout all 6 floors of the building were cold. The first thing we noticed when we entered unit 304 was dust thick enough to peel off from the tissue holder. Then we saw that the vacuuming was done only in the center of the rooms and not under and behind the small furniture. The sliding glass door in the bedroom would not close fully due to a bent frame. This allowed cold air to blow in continually. After taking my shoes off later that night we found the living room carpet soaked. It was from a broken ice maker line. It had been broken for so long that black mold reached almost three high behind the refridgerator. After very much complaining to an indifferent and uncaring management, we were moved to unit 601 the next day (Christmas Eve day). I didn't get to visit my family till about 3:00. Unit 601 is a loud room. The garbage chute, drink machine and elevator are all right outside the door. The microwave was broken and had to be replaced. The regular oven only cooked at 550 degrees, and no offer to repair it was made. And there was so much condensation running down the windows that we had to use newspapers on the sills to absorbe it. We were supposed to be there for a week, but cut our stay short because of the condition of the units and the treatment we received.

Golden Corral Buffet & Grill

For good home style cooking at a great price, Golden Corral is the place to go. They offer entrees as well as a buffet, salad, and dessert bars. The buffet offers various meats, fish and vegatables. And it features ham and roast beef which is hand carved per your request. The salad bar can easily become a meal by itself. Some of the add ons for the salad include: broccoli, cauliflower, pepperoni, chick peas, and black olives. You can also find a terrific seafood salad there. They bake their own breads and desserts. When you hear the bell ring, you know that something fresh has just come out of the oven. Golden Corral is a national chain so you might want to check the phone book for one nearer to...Read More
