Jalama Beach County Park is a wonderful camp ground. It's situated 20 miles west of the 101 freeway. The long and winding road is filled with grazing cattle and big oak trees. The camp ground itself has spaces for several types of camping. There is a great little store that sells everything one could need. The breakfasts are delicious and highly recommended. The park itself has miles of open beach to walk along and many surfers love this place. This is a campground. No room service. If you have a huge RV or just a K mart tent you will fit in just fine. You can't beat camping right on the beach. The local camp store is stocked with lots of items like the marshmallows needed for smores. Great sunset and miles of beach walking. No frills. No pools. No maid service.

It's just the camp store that sells great grill food. The eggs and pancakes are very good and they have great hamburgers. The price is reasonable. Buy your lunch and sit outside on one of their wood benches.

The campsight has about 100 campspaces. It can take Big RV's (which are up on the tiered hillside) or tent/car camping located right down on the beach. Each beach space has some big bushes that help with privacy. There are restrooms and showers nearby.

The store is great and has almost everything one needs. The campground is spacious and many people come here year after year. You can watch the sunset right at your campsight if you are the lucky ones who were able to nab a spot right off the sand. Some sights are a few blocks back. All are nice and this place has it all. Bring your surfboard, fishing pole, and a warm jacket. This beach can get windy and cold.

We love to camp here and just chill out. The dogs run on the beach, chasing the birds. We set up our hammocks, got out our books, or just napped and listened to the waves. There are no phones or tv's to distact you. The campsite is clean and well maintained. Don't forget the camp store breakfasts. This is the real california lifestyle.
