The Foxy Hills of Wisconsin

An October 2002 trip to Wisconsin by Krazy Kate

It was my 57th birthday, my son likes to play fooseball tournaments, I don't often get an opportunity to spend some quality time with him. I drove 9 hours to spend a few days with my son, in Wisconsin. The fall colors, blue skies took my breath away.

Fox Hills Resort had some top-quality bikes, which we were able to rent for about .00. Since their beautiful golf course was closed for the season, they allowed us the opportunity to bike around it. It was so awesome, just the two of us biking up and down the Fox Hills with colors of red, green, and gold contrasted with the clear blue skies. We biked through a cemetery in the small village of Mishicot, and stopped for a rest over looking the cemetery - just the two of us. We opened up our hearts and thoughts to one another and realized the fragility of life. It was a special moment in time for a mom who raised six children, who often didn't find much time with each one.

Quick Tips:

Often the most menial things, like cooking a meal with your spouse or child, playing a game, taking a walk in the woods, or a bike ride into a cemetery can leave you with the most precious memories.

Best Way To Get Around:

To get around Wisconsin, you probably need a car. Look out for deer especially during hunting season. Bikes and walking is a great way to enjoy the outdoors.
