Luxury Glasgow

Overview

Quote:
Wander round the West End (Hillhead). Check out Ashton Lane with its cosy yet trendy bars and small unusual shops.

Visit St Judes on Bath Street for its great margaritas (and other cocktails).

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

Walking is a good way to get around local areas (eg city centre, or West End). There's a subway which is OK for inter-area travel. (It closes about 2230 though so don't rely on it at night.) And cabs are fairly plentiful and not too painfully expensive.

Fantastic! Stylish yet comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, friendly service.

"The apartment" on the top floor is excellent, with a living room, bed room, shower room and separate bathroom with free-standing chrome bath. Integrated sound system throughout.

It also has a bar serving great cocktails as well as a good range of beers, wines and spirits, and an excellent restaurant. Plus, you might see a celebrity or two there...

I think they were short-staffed but they shouldn't need excuses. However, once we were seated things improved. The menu is fairly imaginative with European and Asian/Fusion sections. The food was tasty and well presented, the wine list is reasonable and well chosen. The surroundings are pleasant; stylish and open, yet providing some intimacy. The service was reasonably attentive during the meal, if still a little casual. They need to improve on this to achieve the overall level they ...Read More

Stravaigin

Restaurant

Quote:
Stravaigin does great food, well cooked and attractively presented. It's probably a tad more formal than the other eateries in this review, and a little more expensive. The wine is fairly pricey, too, but excellent quality.

Well worth it if you've got the cash and you want the quality.

Worth mentioning, too, is the bar upstairs which does excellent and imaginitive bar meals at good prices - though it can be hard to get a table at busy times.
