Sizzling in Scottsdale

Overview

Quote:
The people - I have now spent many holidays in the USA, however everybody we met, without exception, was friendly, laid-back, and a joy to speak to.

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

We hired a car as this meant that you could easily explore the Valley of the Sun.

Best Things Nearby:Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall, Camelback Mountain, and old town Scottsdale.Best Things About the Resort:The staff are so friendly, the facilities are great - you can choose to do as much or as little as you want. The bar beside the pool provides a lovely way to relax and talk to other guests after a long day exploring Phoenix in the searing heat.Resort Experience:We stayed in a studio. This was more spacious than any studio we have ever stayed in. There is a fully fitted kitchen, which is open plan to the living room. Downstairs there is also a double bed, which can be enclosed by wall to floor curtains. Upstairs, there is a large bedroom w...Read More

Restaurant | "The Grille"

This is the restaurant which is based within the Scottsdale Camelback resort and is right beside the pool and outside bar. You can either sit inside or outside on the patio.

The food is great and very reasonable, but most of all the staff are so friendly. You are also able to get the food 'to go' so you can take your meal back to your accommodation.

Scottsdale Fashion Square

Attraction | "Scottsdale Fashio Square"

Quote:
This mall is anchored by Robinson May, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fith Avenue, and Dillards. The other shops are more unusual than other ones which I have seen in the malls. There are a number of places to eat and plenty of parking.

Story/Tip

When we arrived in Scottsdale to spend the last week of September, the weather was so hot. Daytime temperatures were up to 108 degrees - however this appeared to be about 10 degrees over normal for this time of year.

Never thought I would say that jet lag was a good thing, but being awake at 3am for the first three days meant that we were able to enjoy some cool! (it was only about 80 degrees at this time!!)
