Took a bonus week with RCI to Massanutten Resort. Last visited this resort many years ago, was suprised at how much it had grown. Lots to do there; we had bad weather and still enjoyed the week. We will be returning alot.

The Eagle Trace timeshare resort has 2 golf courses, more on the way to completion. The activity centers have great pools which are large enough to accomodate a lot of people. Many outdoor as well as indoor activities. This was a plus for us because the weather was not so great. We have decided we need to take up golf so lessons are in our future!

Quick Tips:

There is only one restaurant on the resort. There is also a pizzeria and deli that sells subs, etc. Take groceries; or be prepared to leave the mountain for restaurants nearby in Harrisonburg, VA.

Best Way To Get Around:

You need to drive to most locations on this resort. It encompasses almost 6000 acres. This makes it feel less crowded; even though it was a very busy place.
Best Things Nearby:
You don't need to leave this resort, except maybe to eat, to enjoy your stay.

Best Things About the Resort:
Nice lock off unit. Our guest had plenty of privacy.

Resort Experience:
The lock off for this unit is a very small bedroom and a bath. It would be fine for someone who is traveling with the person in the main unit; not for rent seperately. Unit has 3 TV's and 2 baths. Kitchen is furnished with all you should need. There is no jacuzzi, but there is a gas fireplace. Cozy unit, should meet the needs of one or two couples. Not really equipted for children, unless you have just one or you want to use the sofa bed.

  • Unit Type: 2 Bedroom

  • Unit Satisfaction: Good
  • Family Friendliness: Excellent

Eagle Trace at Killy Court
Colo Road Massanutten, Virginia

Near the Eagle Trace resort where we stayed; great ribs. Made from scratch breads, etc. Southern cooking: ribs, chicken, salads. Also has a deli that sells many of the items on the menu for takeout.

Hank's BBQ Smokehouse Southern Grillery

This restaurant is on the Massanutten Resort. We found it to be crowded; often a wait for a table. They only accept reservations for parties of 5 or more. Food was average at best and somewhat high in price. The breakfast buffet on the weekend was adequate; although small. Nice small bar also inside with a bar menu.

Visited Massanutten Mountain in Harrisonburg VA. We stayed at Eagle Trace a Killy Court. I was looking forward to just relaxing for a week. Wrong!! Took family and friends; never stayed at the condo. We were on the go the whole time. There is so much to see and do in this area. Antique stores, restaurants, beautiful mountains to explore. The resort has so much to do that you won't be bored!! We had really bad weather; chilly damp and rainy; still found plenty to keep us busy. Great putt-putt course; activity centers that have it all. Didn't visit the spa or take any classes but they had plenty available. Wanted to stay another week; we will be back, probably frequently. Visit this resort; you will have a great time!!
There are several good Antique Malls in this area. Look for brochures at the check in lobby. In Harrisonburg you can find the Carousel Stained Glass and Gifts shop. They make stained glass items and give lessons at the resort. They are located at 785 E. Market St. Harrisonburg also has a shopping mall, if by some chance you are a really bored person with nothing else to do!! Check out the Green Valley Book Fair nearby if you like to read. This warehouse type of book store has over 500,000 books shelved by catagory. My adult children love to just go here and browse. This is not open every day so check for dates and times before you go. This is off of I-81 South of Harrisonburg; watch for signs for the right exit.
