Overview

We went to Disney for 7 days and visited a park each day. Our favorite day was Islands of Adventure. The Spiderman Ride was amazing. We also loved the Hoop Dee Doo Revue at Disney's Fort Wilderness. The show was very entertaining and the food was surprisingly very good. We were lucky enough to have breakfast at Cinderella's castle. The food was also terrific there as well. Our girls loved to get the autographs of all the characters. I was amazed at how they always stay in their true character. We went to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party which was so much fun if you can visit Disney during October. Magic Kingdom is still as magical as always. We visited Sea World and rode the Atlantis Ride which we thought was the best water ride. The World of Disney at Downtown Disney is the best place to buy your souveniers. Not only does it have the most merchandise, but you can use your Disney Club card to get a discount. Another great breakfast was 1900 Park Fare at The Grand Floridian. It is a character breakfast with very good food.

Quick Tips:

Make sure you make all your reservations 60 days to the day you want to go. You can always cancel them when you get there. Look around for the cheapest park tickets prior to your trip. We found AAA was the cheapest and also the military passes. Don't carry around your own stroller, especially at Magic Kingdom. It is much easier to rent them if you don't mind spending the .00 to .00 to do so. Use guides such as Family Fun magazine and Disney magazine for tips on getting around the parks. Also, I recommend talking to people who visit Disney a lot. They usually have good tips.

Best Way To Get Around:

We rented a minivan since we were not on site of the Disney parks, but we used the monorail system as much as we could. It nice to have your own vehicle just in case you need to run to the drugstore or supermarket, etc.
Best Things Nearby:
Kobe Japanese Steakhouse, convenient shopping, easy access to parks

Best Things About the Resort:
It is a newer timeshare with many units. Can easily fit 10 people. Big kitchen in main unit makes it easy to cook.

Resort Experience:
Our first day was disappoiting as we moved from one room to another. We were not happy with the fact that they did not provide non smoking rooms and therefore kept moving until we found one. Also, there were ants in one of the rooms we had. We were told these were there due to exterminating that was done that morning. Once we got into a room of our liking, the resort was fine. We had a beautiful view of the pools. They came to clean on Wednesday of our week's stay. The people who worked there are very accomondating and even called during the week to make sure our stay was going well. The decor is island-like and there is a jacuzzi tub in the main unit. We have 2 units but you can use just one if you need. There is a king size bed in the main unit with two nightstands. In the main bedroom there is a tv unit with 3 drawers that are not very big. There is a closet in that bedroom as well. Not a lot of room for clothes in the main unit if you have a big family, but we managed. In the main unit there is a 50" tv which my husband loved. He slept on the sofa bed in the living room. The second unit also has a sofa bed and I believe a queen size bed. There are two tv's in that unit as well as vcr's in both units. The bathrooms are huge in both units. There is no restaurant or snack bar, but they do have activities during the week.

  • Unit Type: 2 Bedroom
  • Activities: Good
  • Amenities: Good
  • Unit Satisfaction: Good
  • Family Friendliness: Excellent
  • Service: Excellent

Kobe Japanese Steak HouseBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "Kobe Japanese Steakhouse"

Kobe is a steakhouse/sushi restaurant where they cook in front of you. We had the head chef who was amazing; he actually made Mickey ears out of fried rice. They give you a menu, but basically the dishes are either chicken, beef or shrimp with combination platters to choose from as well. You start with a soup; I'm still not sure what was in it other than the visible mushrooms. They also give you fried rice, lo mein and vegetables with your main dish. The food was out of this world. We recommend upgrading to the filet if you order a meat dish. It actually melted in your mouth. The shrimp was great, too. Watch out what the chef does with the tails. Eating at Kobe Steakhouse was a lot of fun and a break from the traditional Disney dining that we had done all week.

Restaurant

We visited on a Saturday night and didn't have reservations. We waited about 30 minutes for an outside table. Although we had to wait about an hour for our meal, it was well worth the wait. Two of us had the pot roast which was the best we ever ate. Our waiter was very attentive.

We were lucky enough to get reservations for 12 people. It was worth all of the days where we woke up early to call for reservations. There is no menu; the breakfast consists of scrambled eggs, stuffed French toast, croissants, danish, bacon, sausage, orange juice, coffee, tea, etc. Our waitress was friendly and very accomodating. The characters were sweet. We especially liked Belle, who not only looked liked her, but sounded like her as well. This was a first for our family and I thought Cinderella sat with you during breakfast, but the characters walk around to each table. They will spend as much time with you as you want.

Hoop De Doo Musical ReviewBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "Hoop Dee Doo Revue"

What a hoot!!! This interactive dinner show was so much fun and the food was excellent. We were so surprised of how good the food was since it was just a good ole homestyle meal. Once you sit down, a tossed salad and fresh bread awaits you. There is already a house dressing on the salad and it was nice not to have to wait to eat after a long day at the park. As you are eating your salad, the show begins with the actors surprising entrance. At one poing during the show, the actors actually bring some tables part of dinner. Dinner consists of moist fried chicken, succulent ribs, buttered corn, and the best baked beans I ever had in my life. They give you enough for each person on your table. We actually had too much food. After dinner you are brought strawberry shortcake (not that you will have room for it). Did I mention the never ending sangria?? It was a little strong for me. Before the show, a group photo is taken and they will bring the photo to your table. Bottom line, a lot of fun with great food!!!

Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare at The Grand Floridian was great. The food was good and there was a wide variety for all tastes. There is waitstaff for each table who provides juice, coffee, tea, etc. There was an omelet station, never ending supply of danish, bagels and bread, eggs, bacon, sausage, strawberry soup (yes you read right), french toast, Mickey pancakes and just about everthing else you could imagine. There were five characters who walked around to each table and greeted everyone, took pictures and signed autographs. I believe these characters change occasionally, but you can see who is appearing in the hall prior to entering. The Grand Floridian is beautiful. We parked there and used the monorail to go to Epcot after breakfast so we didn't have to keep moving our car. At a good price, you will get a great breakfast with wonderful ambience.
