Bellagio has been described as the most beautiful town in Italy and it is truly a very scenic and charming town. One of the key attractions of the town is simply strolling about. Since the town is situated right on Lake Como you are afforded a great view of the lake. One of the key attractions to the town are the two famous gardens: Villa Serbollini and Villa Melzi, both are very beautiful. The town also offers numerous shops and restaurants. We visited during October, which seemed to be the ideal time. The trees were just beginning to change color to make the already fabulous views even more spectacular. In addition, the weather was very pleasant and the town never felt crowded a...Read More

The accomodations at the Grand Hotel Villa Serbollini were magnficent. This is a 5 star luxery hotel. We had stayed at other 5 star hotels in Italy and this is the only one that I feel was worth the price. The hotel truly did everything right. You have the feeling that you are actually staying an an 18th Century Palace. The hotel has many amenities such as Tennis Courts, Fitness Center, indoor and outdoor pool, etc. Since our stay was only two days we didn't get the opportunity to take advantage of most of them. One very nice touch is every night in the hotel's bar a classical trio performs. It gives just the right touch for the atmosphere. One thing to note is the ho...Read More

La Pergola Hotel-Ristorante

Restaurant | "La Pergola"

Quote:
La Pergola is actually located in Pescallo, a tiny fishing hamlet just outside of Bellagio. It is a pleasant 10 minute walk to Pescalla from the center of Bellagio and worth it both for the scenery and this restaurant. La Pergola is both a hotel and resturant, all of the tables are situated on the patio outside all offering great views of the lake. The patio is covered with Ivy, which is the trend at most restaurants in the area, and situated right next to the lake. The menu is heavy on local seafood, but also offers several pasta and meat selctions. We ordered both pasta and the local fish and were very pleased with the food. However, the view and the relaxed atmosphere are what t...Read More

Bilacus

Restaurant

Quote:
Bilacus offers very good food in wonderful atmosphere. The setting is an ivory covered patio (that is very common in Bellagio), but this place does the atmosphere just right.

The menu is typical of the area offering a selection pasta, local fresh seafood, and meat. The service was very attentive and friendly. About the only thing missing from this place is a view of the lake. The prices are reasonable since I would classify this as one of the higher end restaurants in Bellagio.

Il Sorbetto

Restaurant

Quote:
This place offers not only very good Gelato and cappucino, but is also an Internet cafe. If you are looking for a place to check your email, this is the best place in town. You can have a gelato, cappucino or other snack while you check your email. Though there are only three computers there, there was never a wait anytime I went in.

The only other place in town that I found to access the Internet was more bare; it had one computer and was more expensive.

Villa Melzi

Attraction

Villa Melzi Photo, Lake Como, Italy
Quote:
One of two gardens in Bellagio, the other being Villa Serbelloni. Villa Melzi is the only one that allows you to wander freely in the gardens. It is a very beautiful setting with the gardens overlooking the lake. The admission is 5 Euros. It will take you about an hour to wander through and see the gardens. In addition to the gardens themselves, there is the private villa chapel that is worth seeing.
