Mucho day trips, Ultra snazzy resorts, great service and reasonable prices make this beachside paradise my home away from home! My last trip down we spent a week at the Royal Mayan esort. This is offically now my favorite resort. The place is huge with 3 giant freeform pools- multiple restaurants (something for everyone, pizza delivery for me). This resort was like staying at an all inclusive in that all your meals drinks and shopping at the resort (or any of the other 3 MAYAN resorts and Captains Cove) was charged to your roomkey and you settled up at the end of the week. So it had the feel of all inclusive without the locked in price. I have stayed at all inclusive resorts in Cancun and this wound up being a less expensive option. Definately go to Xcaret. If you go to Chitchin Itza you might want to strap an air conditioner to your head, but you can't beat the view from the top of the ruins.

Quick Tips:

Don t bother renting a car, just use the shuttles for local travel and book day trips through resorts.

Best Way To Get Around:

shuttles go all night long so that worked best for us. If you get too tipsy at 1 of the many nightspots, taxis are everywhere, just be sure to ask how much before you get in.

Resort Experience:
The units where huge, the pools where outstanding, great activities and restaurants onsite. You can use the amenities at the other Royal resorts so you never even need to leave! I want to go back right now!!!
