A June 2002 trip to Madonna di Campiglio by jillap

Quote: Stayed at Residence Rio Falze' near Madonna di Campiglio. Too far up and down the mountain to use as a base for seeing many major sites.

Madonna di Campiglio is a beautiful little town, though pretty deserted in June. Natives were as interested in us as we were in them. Tonale Glacier is a worthwhile 1/2 day trip and Trento is a great, historically interesting city. Near Trento, Riva del Garda was absolutely beautiful. Venice was an interesting day trip. Verona was a treat that we almost missed.

Quick Tips:

Spend time in the small towns, eat with the locals, wander through the winding streets. Plenty of hiking trails and beautiful scenery in the mountains.

Best Way To Get Around:

A vehicle is a must. Madonna di Campiglio is a 1 hour drive from the Autostrada.
