A short walk from the Bryggen is the terminal for the Fløibanen, Funicular railway (every 30min; 30kr return) that runs up to the top of Mount Fløyen (one of seven hills), where there are panoramic views over the city.

There's plenty to see, from Bergen's fine medieval buildings, museums, and aquarium centers to the city center which is always buzzing with activity.
The city is divided into two distinct parts: the wharf area, Bryggen (a popular tourist hangout), and the modern center, which stretches from behind the main square inland.
