Smuggler's Notch VT in Late September

A September 2002 trip to Smugglers Notch by ccmak3

Quote: As expected the area is beautiful. Didn't really expect a resort that caters to skiiers to have the accommodation (Aspen buildings) in such great shape.

Smuggler's Notch VT in Late September

Overview

Quote:
We fished for and caught Brook and Raimbow Trout. We went hiking, canoeing, to a winery, to the Ben and Jerry's ice cream factory, resort tour to Montreal, and visited cider making and tasting locations.

Quick Tips:

No good grocery store in Jeffersonville, so if you want groceries plan to stock up in a bigger town. We loved Stowe and the shortest route there is a real heart stopper as you take a one lane road between the boulders at the top of the pass.

Best Way To Get Around:

Take your own or rent a car. Continental Airlines does have a commuter flight into a small airport near the resort as well as into Burlington, VT.

Restaurant

Quote:
Large servings of fresh, wholesome foods. Locals eat there and we consider that a recommendation in itself. Right beside the Lamoille River and a cane livery.
