St. Pete's Beach is beautiful. If you are a sun lover, you could spend hours walking the shore admiring the resorts, listening to music. For those activities you like much more than walking, available at your finger tips are whale watching tours, dolphin tours, jet skis, parasailing, snorkling, kayaks and paddleboats to name a few. Dining out is plentiful, and lots of shops to browse through. St. Petes, is centrally located, 40 minutes to Busch Gardens, 60 min from Disney. Coral Reef is the resort where we stayed. Best Things Nearby:Large grocery store less than a mile away. Also back in St. Petersburg outlet malls gallore. If you wanted to shop, shops we very plentiful. From souvenirs to outlets. Best Things About the Resort:Coral Reef was located directly on the ocean. Each unit had a deck with which to sit and see the ocean or look down and marvel at the pool. The one bedroom units are small and I would recommend them for only a couple, even though they sleep four. However, the units are clean, and the decor has very Carribean style furniture (bamboo sofa and chair with tropical prints). We'd go back for the pool; the kids loved it. It was beautiful.
