Best Way To Get Around:

It has been about a week now since we returned. It was a very busy week at work, they don't seem to be able to get anything out without me. I finally got our pictures printed & sort out, so now I can send out a few. On this trip we went with Dave & Sherrie Bishop. Dave & Sherrie live above San Francisco in a town named Santa Rosa. They flew in from SFO on Alaskan Airlines & we can in from LAX on American Airlines. I didn't think this would cause any problems since our arrival times were only 20 minutes apart, but since the first time Esther was in Los Cabos they have built a new terminal. So when we came in I found out that Alaska Airline & American airlines don't ...Read More

We stayed at the WorldMark Resort at Coral Baja and it turned out to be a very nice place, quiet & peaceful and a good place to just relax around the pool (more on that later). It is a Gold Crown resort and everything is really nice. We had a two bedroom condo, so we had lots of room with a nice kitchen so we could cook some of our meals (see next pic). Our unit looked out over the Sea of Cortez. Since we were facing east we didn't any good sunsets, but one morning I got up a little early to take in a sunrise from our balcony (see pic).

Now let be explain about how "Los Cabos" is laid out. What we call "Los Cabos" is really two cities with a 20-mile tourist corridor between them. The city nearest to the airport is San Jose Del Cabo, a small Mexican seaport town. San Jose Del Cabos does have some restaurants & shopping areas. At the other end is the city of Cabo San Lucas, the "real" tourist town. Cabos San Lucas has more restaurants, bigger shopping markets & nightclubs(see pic of one of the famous landmarks, the Giggling Marlin) but all along the corridor there are many restaurants, resorts, shopping etc.

Our first day we took the "free taxi" to the time share presentation at the Pueblo Bonita Sunset resort. The Pueblo Bonita company has three resorts in Cabo San Lucas but the newest one is on the pacific side on the tip of Baja, thus they get the sunsets. After about 4 hours (for what was supposed to be a 90 minute presentation) we finally get all of our gifts and they take us back into downtown Cabos San Lucas. We do some sight seeing (see pic) and some shopping (see pic). Finally we decide we need lunch (they did feed us breakfast before the presentation but that was 5 hours ago). We head out the the Peublo Bonita Blanco since between us we had $200 food credit. Los Cabos in Sept. is hot,...Read More

The next day we were booked for a sunset cruise, so we took off later in the afternoon. Feeling adventurous we took the bus. In Mexico most of the local people get around on the bus. Your can get around town for a few pesos. So we rode to bus from just outside of our resort taking it all the way into downtown Cabo San Lucas. From there we walked into the marina area (see pic). We got there early and being very hot again decided to stop for some cool lemonade and watch some Americano football at a local open air bar (see pic). Finally we get to our boat (see pic) and take a trip around the tip of land end into the pacific side of Baja. The boat was a little small & the trip was somewhat rough...Read More

The next we had nothing to do all day. Dave & Sherrie wanted to just lay around the pool all day. Esther & I went into the local town of San Jose Del Cabo to explore and do some shopping. We get back later & head straight for the pool where we find Dave & Sherrie. I had told Dave to bring lots of sunscreen, but....they thought that laying just in the shade the wouldn't need it. Wrong!!!That night we went to the Mexican Fiesta at our resort. We had "Mexican mainliners" (see pic) and had very good time with music, folk dancers & "games" where the DJ gets the gringos to drink too much Tequila and do funny things. Dave was starting to "feel the heat".

The next day.

The next morning Dave & Sherrie both had a bad sunburn. The picture I remember but just can't send is of Dave sitting in our condo wearing nothing but his shorts & looking a lot like a cooked lobster. Dave & Sherrie both could only sit around all day & hardly move. We had decide to rent a car for the last two day so Esther & I take off for Cabo San Lucas to shop & get some lobster for lunch. I did really feel sorry for Dave & found some lotion from the local "farmicia". Later after sundown & it cooled of some we all went out to a dinner in town.

On the last day we went back into Cabos San Lucas for one last lunch. We still had food credit at the Pueblo Bonita resort so we had our last lunch there. It had been a good week just resting, shopping & have some good food & drink (only to decide what to have for our last lunch, see pic). One last look across the bay at land ends (see last pic).
