The highlights of our trip were the activities we did. Try to go on presentations of other resorts and they will give your activities tickets for free or close to it. As a perk for visiting the Lindo Mar (Beautiful!), we went on a zip-line canopy tour for US (normally + US for 2). Our hotel travel agent tried to tell us that the tour was only for travel agents right now. We did use our hotel to book tickets to the very romantic Rhythms of the Night to Las Caletas islands ( US for 2), a full-day trip on the Geronimo to Las Marietas islands ( US for 2), horse back riding ( US for 2) and a tequila tour (can''t recall). Quick Tips:

Research currency exchange rates. Most places will take US but must be undamaged and they round your change in their favor with pesos. Tell your credit card company you are going out of the country. BUY SUNSCREEN AT HOME. It''s about a bottle even at the new Super Walmart and Sam''s. When someone walks up and asks if you want something(song, drinks, hold birds, etc.) always ask how much first. Calling card, collect, etc. will cost you from the hotel. Sunday nights downtown (shops, Hard Rock, etc.) are family night and are a good time to watch the sunset and stroll. Try ice cream at "Once Upon a Time" and Mexican food, bingo and karaoke at "Santa Barbara''s" both downtown on the southside past Hard Rock. Tired of resort folks bothering you? Say Estamos estudiates and they will think you have no . Never tell venders you''re from a good hotel for a similar reason. Ships come in on Wednesdays and prices go up. Shop around and bargain. Habla Ingles? works wonders. Buy groceries to save a few bucks. If you drink decaf coffee, bring some with you.

Best Way To Get Around:

As everyone says, it is safe to walk late and buses are fast and cheap. We rented car and spent a lot of time going the wrong way or trying to find a place to park. Get a reliable map or ask several people for directions. Read Less

The Canopy Tour (zip line) was awesome. We got this for about $10 US after visiting another resort for a presentation. The Geronimo tour was an all day event. You get breakfast and lunch and you are brought back before dinner. You get to snorkle, swim, socialize and we even saw some dolphins on the ride over. The Rhythms of the Night tour was very romantic, even though it rained. The buffet was delicious and the entertainment spectacular. Drinks on the last two tours were free. The Tequila Tour was short, but we were able to taste many tequilas and lunch at the taco bar across the street was included. It was great.
