Florida State Football - The highlight of the season is Florida St vs Florida. I have never seen a city more supportive of a team than Tallahassee is for Florida State and Bobby Bowden. If you ever go Seminole you'll never go back!!! Oh, and don't miss Wakulla Spings!Quick Tips: Don't fly unless you have to...Tallahassee is a very expensive destination for air travel. The small airport is very far to the south of the city...I guess they thought they were going to grow in to a big city. If you are going to a game take the bus.Best Way To Get Around: Get a car and a map...The rumor is, all the roads in Tallahassee were built on old pig trails. If you judge resturants by how many cars are in the parking lot well this place sometimes spills out onto the shoulder of the adjacent street. This is my favorite resturant in Tallahassee. The wait staff is TOP NOTCH. The food is OUTSTANDING. The atmosphere is load and fun. The steaks are always delicious and the shrimp are huge. If you only eat at one place and don't want a shi shi pooh pooh atmosphere this is where I recommend. I have taken everyone I know to this place and when they come back this is where they want to go again. Check out the menu here.

Wakulla Springs State Park & Lodge is located 14 miles south of Tallahassee on S.R. 267 at S.R. 61. Before making the trip call to find out is the Glass bottom tour is runnig. If the water isn't clear they don't run. The drive in is beautiful. Watch carefully for Alligators on the banks of ponds, streams or crossing the road. Once you arrive get your ticket for the cruises as there is usually a wait for the boat. There are two cruises. Glass bottom which goes over the the 185 ft springs and you can see the bones of a real prehistoric mastodon. A complete mastodon skeleton was removed and is in the Tallahassee Archeological Museum. The glass bottom cruise is also where you'll see Henry the pole vaultin...Read More
