Take a ride on the CarrieB which takes you by multi-million dollar homes and yachts and to Port Everglades to see the cruise ships. Air conditioned with drinks. Be sure and take your camera. Visit Sawgrass Outlet Mall. Get a brochure first and plot your shopping. The indoor Festival Flea Market. Great buys on perfumes and such. Ride on an airboat in the everglades and see alligators. Visit Los Olas, the Rodeo Drive of the South. Have a nice dinner at ARUBA's located on the beach. Have breakfast at The Floridian or beach front H20's. Sit at Hooters at Beach Place and watch the cruise ships go in and out of Port Everglades. Take a cruise to the Bahamas. Go Deep Sea Fishing. Happy hour at the Fisherman's Wharf and get cheap hors d'oeuvres and a free pass to the pier. Best ribs in the world. The same is for Jeremiahs except no ribs, but great deals on oysters on the half shell after 5pm. Country Ham and Egg has great food for breakfast and lunch. Cassablancas at lunch, faboulous deal and great view of the beach.

Quick Tips:

When you first arrive, get the free local neighborhood papers. One is City News. It has great coupons for restaraunts and usually the Carrie B, buy one get one free.It also will tell you of any local events going on. If you are staying in a condo, shop at Publix. Mr. Fish on Atlantic has great deals on seafood and they are more than willing to prepare it for you. Ask the locals where they eat, not where they recommend. They are trained to recommend touristy places which charge more and give you less. Try to avoid the interstate in South Florida, it is very congested and very confusing. Broward County is listed as the most dangerous highway in the country. Get a map if you are going to be doing a lot of driving. The rental car companies will give you one if you ask. Take advantage of happy hours even if you don't drink alcohol. You can have a coke at the bar and enjoy the free hos d'oeuvres which are usually excellent. Take lots of sunscreen and be sure and use it often.

Best Way To Get Around:

Unless you stay at a Gold star resort which offers many tours, you will need a car. If you are staying close to Beach Place, you are in walking distance to wonderful restaraunts and shops. You could actually get away without a car. However, it will be too far to the shopping malls to take a cab. However, you will have nearby access to the water taxis which are cheap and will take you downtown and such. Otherwise, You will be limited to just the beach area. But that's not so bad, is it??
Best Things Nearby:
Grocery Store within a mile. Jeramiah's, Joe's Riverside Grill and the Fisherman's Wharf all in walking distance. Full Beach amenities.

Best Things About the Resort:
Five pools including one on the sand at the beach. Lots of activities for Kids and adults. Planned tours and trips. Cookouts almost daily. Very clean and organized. Very Family Oriented. However, you feel it is very Posh at the same time.

Resort Experience:
The rooms are very beautiful and nicely furnished with all the extras. Grand gardens throughout the resort with well kept clean pools and hot tubs. There are so many activities at the resort that you could spend the whole week without leaving. With the nearby Restaraunts and grocery store, you could get by without a car.

Arubas has long been one of our favorite restaraunts in South Florida. It is really a locals place and they are usually dressed nice. It is a popular place for locals to take a date or for locals to meet after work. However, it is an even better tourish place even though many don't know about it. It is right on the sand so you see all the sun bathing beauties while you eat. It is also right on the pier. The food is incredible and my husband loves the seafood Quesadillas. The Bimini bread is wonderful also. This is a place that anyone will find something they like, even kids.

Fun, original and great food. The dessert selection is incredible. Huge menu and they serve breakfast all day. The wait staff is sassy but quick. Great bang for your buck with a true feel of the locals.

Sawgrass Mills MallBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Saw Grass Mills Outlet Mall"

A girl's heaven!! The Marshall's is the most wonderful I have seen. Every huge designer brand with a huge selection. Stores for all the top New York/Paris designers with some great deals. They have a great food court including Wolfgang Puck and the Cheesecake Factory. YUM! Plan to spend an entire day and it is best if you get a brochure and plot out where you want to go the most. There is absolutely no way you could go in every store in one day but it sure is fun trying. By the way, leave the guy at home unless he likes shopping as much as you or you will both be miserable.
