Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

The only good way to get around Kansas City is by car. The city is too spread out to rely on taxis, they would cost a fortune. The airport itself is about 20 miles out of the city. Most areas that are visited by tourists are not withing walking distance of downtown.

Savoy GrillBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

The Savoy Grill is known to be Kansas City's oldest resturaunt. It is inside of the Hotel Savoy in Downtown Kansas City. Their menu features many steak and seafood dishes. Their waiters all dress in attire similar to the 1890's train car era. Rather than name tags, they wear buttons with numbers on them. The food at the Savoy Grill is absolutly top notch. The atmosphere is relaxing and could be very romantic.

Worlds of FunBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

Worlds of Fun is a smaller sized amusement park located in Kansas City. It's not quite as big as Disneyland or Six Flags, but is worth the time spent there. Worlds of Fun has 4 or 5 roller coasters. The largest one is a steel coaster with speeds in excess of 70 MPH. They have a good sized wooden coster to jar your brains around, and 2 looped coasters. They have a Skycoaster, which does cost extra above the park admission, but is well worth it. The Skycoaster simulates an experience similar to skydiving, it is a rush you don't want to miss out on.

America's Pub: typically over 24 crowd, plays a lot of 80's music.
Buzzard Beach: Punk rock scene.
The Hurricane: Has live bands and a seperate dance floor with a dj.
Beaumont Club: Country bar, plays a lot of other music too, a place for everone.
XO Club: Kansas City's greatest dance club, mostly house or techno music. Very large club with 2 sub-clubs inside. This place is a must see for anyone partying in KC.

Harrah's North Kansas City Casino and HotelBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Harrah's, AmeriStar, Argosy, and Isle of Capri"

Kansas City is home to four riverboat casino's. Ameristar, Argosy, Isle of Capri, and Harrah's all have casinos here. The trend in the past few years has been away from the river boat and to a land based, riverside casino. You can gamble any way you would like here, Slot machines, Craps, Poker, Blackjack, you name it, they have it.

The Country Club Plaza is a slighly upscale outdoor shopping region in Kansas City. Just a few miles south of downtown KC. There are many excellent resturaunts in the plaza. Any kind of food imaginable is here. There are 3 amazing Italian resturaunts, 1 great Japanese Steakhouse, 2 really good Chinese resturaunts, and many others.

As far as shopping goes, you can buy alost anything here. There are shops for everyone from the Discovery Channel store, to FAO Schwartz toy store, to Saks Fifth Avenue, to The Gap. Everyone should experience the Country Club Plaza at least once.
