The absolute best thing to do in New Orleans is eat. There are hundreds of restaurants to choose from. You can eat cheap to very expensive. And the food is good from cheap to very expensive. The good news about summer eating is you walk off your calories because New Orleans is a walking city. The nightlife is great and it is always going on. This is our favority New Orleans restaurant. However, we usually go there for breakfast. They have the best omletes anywhere, and the best griodes and grits. It is very small, they do not take reservations and there is often a line that forms outside the restaurant.

A great place stop on short notice. They are open early, so you can stop for breakfast. They have incredible desserts. There are a number of there around New Orleans. Also a good place to pick up bakery and take it back to the hotel.
