Quick Tips:
You need a car in Houston. Period. And, we have traffic...Period, unless you're going to stay only downtown.
It's HOT in Houston and HUMID. It's good for your skin, so stop complaining! We have air conditioning in every public building, so you are only hot when you get in your car after its been sitting...Our Octobers and Aprils are the prettiest months, and we DO get COLD in Jan / Feb...wet cold!
Best Way To Get Around:
If you're spending a weekend in Downtown Houston, you can grab a cab from Hobby Airport, or George Bush International - plus - and stay downtown. Trolleys () will take you to the ballpark, to the theatre, to the Performing Arts Center, and restaurants. If you want to do anything outside of downtown, you'll need a car. Parking is plentiful in Houston, downtown, and at the malls. We have a great bus system, but you need to know what you're doing. A good concierge can help you with that, if you want to do the bus route. Read Less
