Bratislava might be small, but it's a great place to be. Welcome to my home town!

Overview

Wander round the old town. The main square's the place to be: watch free concerts in the summer or warm up with mulled wine at the Christmas market. Take a boat trip down the Danube to Devin. The view from the castle's hard to beat.

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

The old town's a pedestrian zone, so walking's your only option. Elsewhere, the public transport system's great. Get a taxi rather than the night(mare) buses, though.

Restaurant

Sorry walkman, the food's terrible (unless you happen to like liver chilli and the occasional bout of food poisoning), but go there late on a Friday or Saturday and join the young and beautiful doing their J. Lo impressions till dawn.

Hysteria Pub
Trnavska street Bratislava, Slovakia

Only kids' films are dubbed in Slovakia, so if you're getting a bit bored of Slovak pubs, the cinema's a great alternative. For a taste of home, try the mulitplexes at Polus City Center (Vajnorska, tram 4 or 6 from town) or Aupark (Petrzalka, one stop from Safarikovo namestie). Or laze on the massive sofas at Istropolis' art cinema (Trnavske myto).
