An April 1998 trip
to Louisiana by Peter Reed
Quote: Fabulous trip along the mighty Mississippi.
Great to see small town America along the river banks. Marvellous start in Memphis and brilliant finish in New Orleans - long to go back.
In the complex are other bars -- particularly the Piano Bar with two pianos and large mirrors above. A truly unique place with so much going on. There are often long queues to get into the piano bar -- but the wait is worth it.

New Orleans, Louisiana
Natchez -- as mentioned, experienced a tornado -- couldn't visit historic homes due to damage but did wander around in the afternoon when the weather cleared.
Baton Rouge -- took tour of Louisiana's Old State Capitol with its amazing stained-glass windows and dome. Then went on to the Rural Life Museum which recreates life on a 19th-century plantation.
