Weekend retreat

Lots of beautiful views of the Lake. Quaint little villages with lots of shops. Many art galleries with local art. Many great restaurants to pick from. Tour the quaint lighthouses in the area. I have a thing for lighthouses.

Quick Tips:

Take in a boat tour. Take the ferry from Gill's Rock (which is at the tip of the Peninsula)over to Washington Island. Just beautiful. Bike riding is popular on the Island. Several State Parks up the Peninsula, you can walk or ride. Trails for cross-country skiing in summer. Local cuisine is the ever popular Fish Boil. Cherry and Apple Blossoms add such beauty and tasty morsels. Cherry pie is a must. There is an outdoor drive-in theater, don't see many of them these days. Our favorite things is renting a pontoon boat. Lots of watercraft available. Very popular with Illinois people. Many resorts, but the Bailey's Harbor Yacht Club is a favorite. Elegant looking condos. Nice waterviews.

Best Way To Get Around:

You drive the peninsula. Stop at a variety of the little towns and get out and walk. Don't know of any public transportation.

DON'T REMEMBER EXACT PRICE, BUT IT IS WORTH IT. IT IT IS LESS THAN AN HOUR FROM GREEN BAY. WE HAVE ONLY TAKEN WEEKEND RETREATS WITH THE FAMILY. BUT IT IS A MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE. THE UNITS ARE BEAUTIFUL, RICH, DARK WOOD. IT JUST SEEMS SO ELEGANT. SINCE WE WERE THERE TO RELAX, MOSTLY VISITING AND SWIMMING, THERE IS MUCH TO DO. POOL IS NOT REAL BIG. BUT IT WASN'T SO BUSY IN WINTER. WOULD BE GREAT IN SUMMER. HAS IT'S OWN DOCK. JUST A REALLY GREAT PLACE
