The biggest highlights of a trip to Zion NP is hiking the Kolob Canyons (a remote northern area of the park excellent for backpackers who want to get away from the crowds). Angels Landing is not a hike for people scared of heights. The hike isn't long (5 miles roundtrip)so if you can make it, it is well worth the views. Observation point is another trail that is well worth your time. The view is incredible with the entire canyon laid out at your feet. Another incredible hike for the summer months is the Narrows of the Virgin River.Quick Tips: If you have a few days and want to do some backpacking see the Kolob Canyons area. If you want to see the park from a car or in one day go to the...Read More

The campground was pretty poor. The one night we spent at it was a major disappointment. The campsites in the backcountry are much better. The other two campgrounds in the park (Watchman and Lava Point) may be better.

"This isn't so bad!" were the first real words out of mouth on my hike up Angel's Landing. The hike up Angel's Landing began as a lazy meander up a series of switch backs. Walls of rock grow higher around you with each step you take. Soon the question comes to mind, "How are we going to get over those?" A bend is rounded and the answer presents itself as a long groan from your hiking partners. Years ago a series of switch backs were built into the cliff and given the name Walter's Wiggles. This wig...Read More

This hike is an experience. It is a long climb with beautiful vistas. Hidden Canyon is an interesting side spur of The Observation Point Trail. The views from the top are incredible. It is odd though that Observation Point isn't the highest point on the trail.

Kolob Canyons

Attraction | "Kolob Arch"

Quote:
The arch is not that impressive since it is set into the wall. It is debatebly the largest natural arch in the world. The scenery on the way to the arch is worth the trip in itself. Go see the arch and spend a couple of days in the backcountry.
