Orlando Sensation

A March 2000 trip to Orlando by ID

Orange Lake Country Club in Kissimmee in Orlando is one of the best resorts I have been to and I have been to many.

Orange Lake has everything including four golf courses, a 18 hole putting course, a cinema, an indoor ports area, a grocery shop, nice restaurant, many swimming pools and a good reception area and it an ideal location for visiting the various theme parks. The resort if very secure with no worries at all.

Quick Tips:

Eat out on the I192 which is just outside the resort as every type of food is on this road. We like the Cracker Barrell which is old style American food and if you go there you will have to wait a few minutes before you get a table as it is very popular. We also like the Olive Garden which is a nice italian style restaurant.

Best Way To Get Around:

You need a car to be able to use the Orlando area at its best. You could get round by taxis and bus if you do not drive.
Best Things Nearby:
Orange lake has just about everything on site or close by and their even have a cinema on site.

Best Things About the Resort:
Very secure, plenty of golf on site, cinema on site, good restaurant on site

Resort Experience:
Orange Lake is the best resort I have stayed at and I have stayed at many timeshare resorts over the years. It has wonderful varied golf courses on site and a nice restaurant. The 192 road to which it is on is a very long road of over 15 miles long and you can find anything you want on this road. The theme parks are all very near to the resort with the disney parks being only a few minutes drive. The apartments are large and very well thought out and everything you could need is in the apartments.

Restaurant | "Bahama Breezes"

A very popular restaurant and very busy on a weekend. The food is very good and very filling and it is unlikely that you can eat three courses. The onion rings as a starter are huge and a meal in themselves. We had the onion ringsbetween three of us the first time we went there and we could not eat all our main course. We tried the sweets the second time we went and these were very nice indeed.

Restaurant | "The Olive garden"

Very nice Italian chain of restaurants which are in various places in USA. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very good and quite often the waiters and waiteress have as sing song for the guests. Food is well cooked and plenty of it. If you like Italian food this is for you and if not try it anyway as you will not be dissappointed.

Walt Disney World's EpcotBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Epcot"

A nice park which is different to most of the other parks. The fireworks display at 9-00pm is excellent and the countries section is also very nice to walk round. You could spend two or three hours walking round this area and it is nice to see the culture of the other countries and tast their local food. Also Honey I Shrunk The Kids is a wonderful show to see.
