Gulf Stream CafeBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

We arrived at Gulf Stream Cafe a little early. We went upstairs to the deck for a glass of wine. As we sat watching the sunset over the Inlet and listening to the live Jazz, it felt like heaven.

Our table was ready and our drinks met us there. The service and food were both outstanding.

We went back up to the deck for dessert and more Jazz under the stars.

A fabulous and memorable evening.

Restaurant

Thoroughbreds is an intimate and elegant dining eperience. Cozy little candlelit tables, a stone fireplace and great food make this an excellent choice for a special dinner. We finished the evening with the best Tiramisu I have ever had.

We went to Rossi's Piano Bar, eighty eights, for happy hour. Drinks and appetizers around a coffee table with friends. The pianist is great fun and plays requests.

We moved our party to our table. I wanted to try their Swordfish Mediterranean. Every year the restaurants in Myrtle Beach put out a cookbook of their favorite recipes. The cookbook is called "Taste of Myrtle Beach" and you should definitely look for it at fine restaurants around town.

The swordfish was Rossi's entry in last year's cookbook and this was the first chance I had to try it. It was fantastic and it is suprisingly simple to make. Try it out then see how you compare.

SWORDFISH MEDITERRANEAN

4 fresh tomatoes (choped)
1 oz red onion (diced)
1/2 tbsp. cilantro
1 tbsp. dill weed
1/2 oz. scallions (chopped)
juice form one lime 1 tbsp. garlic (minced)
2 oz. white wine
salt and pepper to taste
2 oz. feta cheese
4 (8oz.) Swordfish steaks

Combine the first 8 ingredients in a mixing bowl. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Grill fish. Top with Mediteeranean mixture. Then top with crumbled feta cheese. Broil fish until the cheese is browned.

We always have a great time at the Conch Cafe. A fun place to hang out after a day at the beach. You will have cravings for the Conch Fritters long after you leave the Grand Strand.

Liberty Steakhouse & BreweryBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "Liberty Steakhouse and Brewery"

Liberty Steakhouse is located in Broadway at the Beach. After a long day of shopping and a visit to Ripley's Sea Aquarium and the Butterfly Pavillion a steak and a beer were definitely in order.

This microbrewery is a great place for dinner and you can continue the party on Broadway's Bourbon St.

The Waccatee Zoo is a woodland setting with a lovely nature walk along the river. It is a lot of fun for the whole family. You can spend the whole day in the shade when the SC sun has gotten you all a little to red for another day at the beach.

In 1999, the TPC of Myrtle Beach opened, and Tom Watson arrived on the SENIOR PGA TOUR. A year later, the man met the course when the TPC played host to the 2000 SENIOR TOUR Championship. Watson fired a tournament record 270 to edge John Jacobs for the victory.
