Visit one of the most historical cities in America while enjoying the most luxurious surroundings possible.

A brief walk in the historical section is always enjoyable. Most of the employees are in costume and are always in character appropriate for their time.

Quick Tips:

Do not get the pass to visit all of the attractions. Almost all attractions are "authentic" shops and manufacturers where you learn a little lesson about how things were back in the 1700's. Although its educational, its certainly not worth the big bucks they charge.

Best Way To Get Around:

The historic part of town can only be traveled by foot. All the roads are blocked off. Other attractions outside of the historic section are easily accessed by car.

Best Things Nearby:
Jamestown, Williamsburg and Yorktown are great for history buffs and are all withing 30 minutes. Jamestown is actually only a few miles away. Busch Gardens and Water Country USA are also in Williamsburg.

Best Things About the Resort:
All units are well kept, immaculate, and quiet. You really feel like you're living it up at this place. Three pools and tons of recreational activities are great when you're tired of sight-seeing.

Resort Experience:
From the outside, it looks like a bunch of townhouses surrounded by scraggly woods, but once inside the units, you can feel the attention to making your stay a good one.

The things I liked best in the unit were:
1. The jacuzzi room (first floor only). The jacuzzi was on the back of the unit, with access from the living room and the master bedroom. If you're staying in the master bedroom, its great for a late night skinny dip, and quick jog into bed.
2. Steam bath in Master Bath. Nothing helps you sleep better then sitting in a hot steam bath for 15-20 minutes. It's absolutely fabulous.
3. Pools! With three pools, the attenders tend to gravitate to their appropriate age group. Kids and families stick around the lower pool next to the kiddie pools, grownups in the middle, and singles at the top. (at least when I was there).

There's also an indoor pool, but I don't recommend it if the outdoor ones are open.

The TrellisBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

The Trellis is a very classy dining experience. The food is modern American and presented nicely. The most important part of eating at the Trellis is dessert. If you don't have time for a full meal, or you don't want to spend a lot on dinner, then just go for the dessert. Its worth going out of your way for.

Between lunch and dinner, there's an outdoor cafe that serves drinks and dessert. That's a nice unwind from walking around town all day.

Pierce’s Pit Bar-B-QBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "Pierce's Pitt Bar-B-Que"

Texas style Bar-B-Que in Virginia! For BBQ fans, this is the real thing. Lots of chunky meat and sauce on top! Its a roadside restaurant, so don't worry about going in cut-offs and flip-flops.
