A weekend in the fog

Besides being one of the most popular U.S. cities to visit, San Francisco offers so much culture and there is never a dull moment.

One of the best places to go is Fisherman's Wharf, despite the fact that it is loaded with tourists! You can get an excellent view of Alcatraz, the "floating prison" and there are some great seafood restaurants on Pier 39.

This is a beautiful hotel located near Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf. The employees were very friendly and helpful, making sure to inform me of the evening wine tasting held at the hotel. Street parking is difficult to find, but the hotel does offer valet. The rooms were very spacious and included a mini fridge and a snack bar (for an additional price).

It is a typical old building newly renovated for use as a hotel. I especially liked the elegant decor with golden striped wallpaper and large green pillows on each bed. Also the windows had wood slat blinds that added just the right touch. Although the bathrooms were tight for two people, there were enough mirrors and outlets in the room for another person to get ready.

I enjoyed this hotel very much and would definitely like to stay there again soon!
