My mother and I both love Paris, and decided to escape for a long weekend just a few months before I got married. The City of Light was a much needed breath of fresh air in early March!

Favorite Memories:

Watching a produce shop keeper close up for the night while we ate dinner at a restaurant across the street. How he fit everything from the sidewalk into his teeny store was ingenious!

Seeing our waiter, Antoine, the next morning at breakfast in a cafe, getting his morning beer!

Standing in the middle of the Champs-Elysees at night, taking a picture of the Carousel (and almost getting hit by cars!).

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

Paris is large; I find the Metro extremely useful, but it's nicer to walk if you can!

Hotel du Champ de Mars

Double rooms with private bath are about $70, triples are more. Breakfast is about $6 extra; it consisted of tea or coffee, croissants, and yogurt.

This quaint little hotel is in the 8th arrondisement just steps away from the Rue Cler street market and within walking distance to the Eiffel Tower. We felt safe here at night with the Metro (Ecole Militaire) just around the block from the hotel. The staff have the typical Parisian attitude that sometimes turns Americans off; don't let it.
