The suites were beautiful, filled with decorator touches. In the one bedroom side, the kitchen was easy to work in, and the living space was nicely laid out. The bedroom was short on drawer space, but other than that, one could not possibly complain. The lockoff side of the unit was exceptionally well planned for a lockoff. Not only was the partial kitchen of a nice size, but the couch and t.v. had their own separate area which made it seem as though the area was a separate room. The square footage of the bathroom on the lockoff size was particularly large and the shower-tub combination was impressive. This section contains pictures of the lock-off side of the Desert Oasis units. The lockoff side is particularly nice for a lock-off and does not seem cramped and "motel-like." It also has its own balcony.

The pools at the Desert Oasis are unusually nice. The large free form pool is particularly inviting and is enhanced by a very large hot tub in what appears to be a rock grotto with a waterfall entrance. In addition, there is a quiet pool for adults only in another section of the complex. The quiet pool is perfect for reading during the day or for a late evening swim.

Guides do various tours through the complex which wright established in 1937 as a winter camp. Originally he envisioned having only tents as the shelter, but he was gradually persuaded to provide more permanent structures. On the tour you will see the layout of the complex, the living room, the studio, and several outdoor patios. The guides are knowledgable about Wright and tell many fascinating annecdotes about him and his wife and his theories. The tour is well worth the half day it requires.
