Someone once told me that Germans could be extremely kinky people. Could that be true??

Overview

As I come from a country where sex is the major topic, Berlin, despite being probably the most openminded of all of Germany, wasn't that big a deal. Until I went for a walk on their wild side.
OK, Amsterdam is kinkier. But so what? You can't compare Dutchies with anyone else on Earth, so Berlin deserves some respect.

Quick Tips:

- Try to behave nicely during the day. Enjoy also the great deal of History you can get in the city. Visit all those sites once ruled by wars. Visit museums, especially Checkpoint Charlie. Eat at some cheap restaurant on the East side of the city. And get ready for the night!

Best Way To Get Around:

- Train, once you're in Europe.
- In the city, try the U-Bahn, their good metro system, during the day. At night, you better take a taxi.

After shopping at Schwarze Mode (also listed here), I went with a very innocent male friend there. As we tried to get in, the doorwoman told me I wouldn't get in unless I took off my shirt. Damn, she killed my surprise. I had a latex strapless top, very Batgirl like, but I didn't want to expose it so early. Anyway, as I got in and the night started to fall, the most bizarre things I've ever seen happened. What would your mother say if she saw you dancing with a man in his 50's dressed in a black corset and a moustache? And a skinny 30 year old woman with diapers on, acting like a little baby? What about taking a rest in a room full of men masturbating around you? Well, this is Kit Kat Club.

They have incredibly original latex clothes. The price is average, but it's even worth paying more when you can have such nice service. Differently from the usual lack of flexibility in Germany, they gently waited with their shops open when they got my phone call, saying I would be there in a while for some shopping. Perfect place to go before Kit Kat Club (also listed here).

Love Parade
People tend to ignore the importance of Love Parade. it's been happening for over 10 years already and it's when Germans show their kinky side without being in the dark. This is a very hedonistic celebration, of course. But also one of the few ways for a people who've been mentally complex for many decades now to set their souls free. And have fun. Attraction | "The dreamer"

This isn't such an obvious gallery. Some might not even conceive this as Art. As culturally important, at least, every one will agree. This artist, The Dreamer, as he calls himself, paints the bright colours of the dark KitKat Club. When you're there, his work will take you back to some of those Circus caravans, full of the strong colours I'd imagine in a hallucination about what feeling looks like. No wonder why he's called The Dreamer (der Träumer). Maybe you can even find him in your night at the Club. Take the chance and have some philosophical talks about sex and freedom with him. And tell me about it afterwards.

Story/Tip

This could be a perfect guide for you while in Berlin... if only it wasñ´t in German! Considering that you won´t be isolated from the locals while you´re in this wonderful city - you´ll surely get in touch with some German - this tip is relevant.

Zitty is a great programme magazine. A new issue comes out every week and you can´t believe how thick it is. It´s the proof that Berlin has many entertainment options. Check it out, even when your German consists of 'danke' or 'bitte'.
