My son says that Las Vegas isn't for kids because gambling is still everywhere, but there is so much for everyone to do, even families. The hotels with their fabulous restaurants and theme decors are amazing to visit, and we walked through as many as we could in the time we had. The food is to die for. We are delighted that we went to the top of the Stratosphere and rode the roller coaster. Our side trip to the Hoover Dam was very special. The fountains at the Bellagio can't be missed. Our room was in the section of the hotel that had been upgraded so our carpet looked newer than that in some sections. We enjoyed staying in this hotel, but one disadvantage or advantage depending on your point of view might be that it was not right on the main strip where we could walk to the Bellagio Water Show, the Venetian, or Treasure Island for the free show with the ships battling out front. When we we were in Paris years ago, we regretted that we did not go to see the Paris Folies. In Vegas we were determined to go. We went to the late show at the Tropicana and that is the topless show. I could care less about seeing topless women, but the music went back in time, and they performed songs from the 50's and way before and up to the present. Stratosphere Theater

Our objective was the roller coaster at the top of the Stratosphere Tower. This is the tallest free-standing observation tower in the U.S. It was just added gravy that there was a fairly inexpensive and very entertaining show in the Stratosphere Hotel. We went to the afternoon show. We sat right next to the stage. I had thought it would be deafening that close, but it wasn't, and the seats were perfect. My husband thought the comedian was terrific. The singing and dancing were OK, but the comedians made the show. We were required to buy drinks. There didn't seem to be much alcohol in them, but the price was right, thanks to our coupons.
