An October 2001 trip
to South Lake Tahoe by baglady
Quote: There is plenty to do at this beautiful deep blue mountain lake. Located on the California, Nevada border this South Lake Tahoe city sports numberous casinos to liven up your evenings.
Then there is the gambling at big and small casinos on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe. The dealers are friendly, the pace is slower than Reno or Las Vegas. The food at the casinos is priced reasonably and the variety and quality is really great.

We signed up for a wine tour of the Placerville, Ca. area and Apple Valley. The countryside in October was full of fall colors.
We made many stops at old wineries, a local brewery, and bustling farmers markets. Lunch was served on the winery patio by our tour guide as we sampled the vineyards best varieties.
