What are the best attractions to see during late July in DC?

The things to see in DC are pretty much year round attractions. It would be helpful to know, however, your interests . . . and who's traveling with you (kids . . . their ages . . . etc).

I visited DC in July. All of the Smithsonian museums are great for summer activities as they are air conditioned. DC in July, for me, was pretty hot so walking the Mall and seeing the monuments was a pretty grueling task. Wear comfortable shoes.
