Curious to know what everyone would recommend for some one that is going to be in the Denver/Colorado Springs area. We fly into Denver EARLY on a Thursday. We figured we would puddle around Denver for the day before we check into our hotel in Colorado Springs for the weekend.
Any restaurants or places to see that our higly recommended would be welcome.

Denver Art Museum is stunning and just down the road from the Capital building. You could do the two in half a day then go to the botanical gardens or the zoo.
This isn't really a place to see, but if you're in downtown Denver and want a quick lunch, I highly recommend Biker Jim's Gourmet Hot Dogs for the experience of sampling reindeer, elk, boar, and other types of delicious and unusual sausages. I was in Denver for a few days last year and this hot dog stand is what I actually remember most. Here's the website: http://www.bikerjimsdogs.com.
The Denver Zoo is pretty cool to visit. I went there about 15 years ago, and it's a nice zoo to spend a day in. I don't know if the top attractions, Klondike and Snowball the polar bears, are still there, but they are worth the visit alone. I saw them as little baby cubs, and I was fascinated.
