Sometimes, as a woman it's hard to find other women who share similar interests or even activities that are woman-friendly.
If you need some ideas to stay active, learn a new sport, or even ideas for backcountry cooking, there is a site called Graceful Edge designed for active women that has tons of tips, articles and advice from experts.
If you’re running short on ideas for your next great adventure, check out this list. Perhaps a cycling trip into Brazil or canyoneering in Jordan is next on your list?

I'm a professional secretary and I attended the March 8th Int'l Women's Day theme day (it's 100th birthday) at Complexe Desjardins in Montréal, Québec, Canada. The theme was Ça marche en 2010. The walkathon internationally for women will be in October.
There was a 3-minute silence contemplating what it would be like without women for 3 minutes. There were several intrepid groups of women, younger, and older too. If there's any other women out there who had or will celebrate this in particular, it's definitely not a figment of the imagination...good luck.

I travel alone and don't mind it at all. I always meet other great solo female travellers. Here a favorite tidbit of mine.
I went to New Zealand in February during my birthday week. I booked a tour for night rappeling. Oddly enough the 7 other participants happen to be women. There wasn't a single man except for the guide and the driver who didn't go with us.
Of all days, it happen to be February 14th. What a great way to spend Valentines. We, as well as the driver, kidded our guide about the special Valentine's Day he was going to have with 8 women.
As a special treat, he had the driver take us over to the beach for a quick moonlight stroll afterwards!
