hurricane season

just wondering how bad is it during hurricane season? im thinking about going on a western caribbean cruise in sept, its good value but ive never cruised or been to central america. can anybody enlighten me please?

We went on a cruise last Sept 2009. Its a good deal,and if a hurricane is coming they will typically cancel and book you at a later time or go around to other islands.
