I am travelling to Paris this May to visit a friend. It is my first time and I am considering living near the airport. So far I am getting information here http://www.charlesdegaulleairport.co.uk/hotels/
However, I would like to ask for your suggestion for any budget friendly hotels or hostels I can stay.

I would consider being centrally located. I have been doing research for places like Montparnasse, the Bastille, Bercy and Porte Maillot for an upcoming trip. At the moment I am looking into Louvre Hotels as they are close to the attractions and some are really reasonable. I´m not sure about the hostels in the area but I would assume that there have to be some close to subway stations so getting around would be easy.

Check out Jim Rosenburg's journal about keeping Paris affordable. Some of his reviews are a bit dated, but I think a lot of the info is still good.
And of course, there's always IgoUgo's cheap hotels in Paris and Paris hostels.
Have a great time!
